Additional Options for Reporting Information about Pledged Demand Loans

March 06, 2014

Depository institutions ("institutions") that pledge loans as collateral for Federal Reserve or Treasury program purposes are required to submit periodic reports detailing the pledged loans. Institutions must report the maturity date for each loan within these reports. Effective immediately, the Federal Reserve offers additional options for reporting the maturity date of demand loans, which are loans without a stated maturity date that are due upon demand by the lender.

For institutions that submit their reports in a fixed position text file that conforms to the Federal Reserve's electronic loan file specifications [MS Word; 133K], there are three options for reporting the maturity date of demand loans:

• Leave the maturity date field blank
• Report a maturity date of 99990101
• Report a maturity date of 99991231

For institutions that submit their reports in Microsoft Excel® ("Excel") format, or select other formats, in compliance with the Flexible File Format Specifications, there are three options for reporting the maturity date of demand loans:

• Leave the maturity date field blank
• Report a maturity date of 01/01/9999
• Report a maturity date of 12/31/9999
